June Gladys Gellhaus

     June Gladys (Johnson) Gellhaus, was born June 26, 1923 to Hjalmar and Elsie Streufert Johnson in Paullina, Iowa.  June was the oldest of five daughters.  She attended and graduated from Paullina High School. 

     June married Verlin L. Gellhaus on January 17, 1943 at the family farm while he was on leave from the Army.  While obtaining further training in the Army, they lived in Arkansas and Texas.  Verlin went to Europe and June stayed in Paullina until his return.  They then lived in Sheldon, Iowa, where their two children, Roger and Ruth were born.  They moved to Sutherland, Iowa in 1948, where Verlin started Sutherland Motor Company. 

     June is survived by her son, Roger and wife, Denise from Omaha, Nebraska and daughter, Ruth and her husband, Rodney Ott from Bend, Oregon. She has four grandsons, Ryan Ott and Georgina from Mandiville, LA, Radley Ott and Lisa from Chico, CA, Steve Gellhaus and wife, Amy from Dallas, TX and Dan Gellhaus and wife, Whitney from Omaha, Nebraska.

     She has been blessed with six great-grandchildren for which she was so proud.  Bridget and Drake Ott and Laken and Everett Ott, Noah and Elijah Gellhaus.

     She is survived by three sisters, Leah Streeter of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Elaine Bowman of Coon Rapids, Iowa and Evelyn Scott from Indianola, Iowa.

     June was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, Marilyn Peck, and two infant brothers, brother-in-laws Delmar Gellhaus, Robert Peck, Duane Streeter, Bill Bowman and Keith Scott and sister-in-law, Edith Gellhaus.
