June Huldaann Richter

June Huldaann Proehl, the daughter of William and Hilda (Westphal) Proehl, was born on June 21, 1923, in Paullina, Iowa. She was raised and attended country school in the Paullina area. On December 5, 1943, June married Luvern Richter in Paullina, IA. She was a long time employee at Witco in Spencer, IA. June enjoyed playing cards, gardening, fishing, quilting and spending time with her family. June was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland and was a member of the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Peterson. June passed away at the Sutherland Care Center on Monday, May 17, 2010, at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one granddaughter, Shelia Pickering; an infant grandson, Brandon Richter; two sisters and two brothers. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Carol Hill and her husband, Jim of Coarsegold, CA and Sandi Gunnerson and her husband, Terry of Peterson, IA; two sons: Brad Richter and his wife, Shirley of Spirit Lake, IA and Gordon Richter and his wife, Lori of Sutherland, IA; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Glen Proehl of Archer, IA; two sisters: Ruth Durst of Spirit Lake, IA and Lois Mauer of Sutherland, IA; other relatives and friends.
