Kathryn Rosalyn Bauman, the daughter of Thixton and Maude (Ferris) Miller, was born January 14, 1924 in Clay County, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent on a farm north of Royal. She attended and graduated from the Everly Consolidated School.
Kathryn married Warren Frank Bauman on August 19, 1941 in rural Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they resided on the Bauman Family Farm, where they farmed until Warren's health forced them to retire in 1976. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Royal, where she was a Sunday school teacher, directed Sr. choir and worked with the youth. She also was active in 4-H, enjoyed sewing and teaching it. She loved to sing, listen to music and visit with family and friends. Kathryn moved to Spencer in 1996 and then to Riverview Terrace in 2005. Kathryn was currently a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.
Kathryn passed away on March 12, 2007, at Riverview Terrace at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson, Daniel and three sisters.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Ronald Bauman and his wife, Nancy of Kaunakakai, HI and Dennis Bauman and his wife, Susan of Lewistown, MT; two daughters: Natalie Kay Tirevold of Albert City, IA and Tamman Christensen and her husband, James of Spencer, IA; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Janice Chamberlain of Springfield, IL; one brother, Thixton Miller, Jr. and his wife, Mary of Springfield, IL; other relatives and many friends
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be at 1:00p.m., Friday, March 16, 2007, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.
