Kathryn "Kay" Ann Zieman

   Kathryn "Kay" Ann Zieman, the daughter of Verne and Dorothy (Rolfes) Goyette, was born March 18, 1948, in Spencer, Iowa.  She attended Spencer Community Schools through the 8^th grade and graduated from the Royal High School.  She continued her education at the CE School of Commerce in Omaha Nebraska. 

   On June 24, 1969, Kay was united in marriage to Roger Zieman at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Royal, Iowa.  Following their marriage, they lived on a farm south of Royal.  She worked at the Dahl House, Post Office and City Clerk's Office in Royal.

   Kay enjoyed flowers, landscaping, shopping, collecting antiques, old quilts, knitting, sewing, reading, and taking pictures, which many of them were entered in the Clay County Fair.  She was involved with her church, the Royal Community Action, Craft Club, March Birthday Club, 4-H, and was a very active volunteer at the Clay County Fair as head of the Horse Committee, clerk for the Beef Show and helped manage the Photography Department.  But most of all, Kay enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her Sharpei dogs.

    Kay passed away at the Longhouse Residence on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at the age of 70.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

   Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Roger of Royal, IA; two daughters:  Alisa (Todd) Neil of Fairbank, IA, and Teresa (Tye) Lettow of Woodward, IA; five grandchildren:  Cole and Ellie Neil, and Tate, Trey and Tabor Lettow; two brothers:  Jim (Shirley) Goyette and Tom (Linda) Goyette, both of Spencer, IA; one sister, JoAnn (Harvey) Baxter of Crosslake, MN; other relatives and many friends.
