Spencer

Kathryn Ann Sebby was born on February 3, 1960, in Spencer, IA, to Hans and Rae (Halling) Krogh. She was raised in Spencer and attended school in Milford where she graduated from Milford High School in 1978.

She met the love of her life, Dwayne Sebby, “scooping the loop” on Grand Avenue in Spencer. They were married on July 25, 1981 at First Lutheran Church in Milford. Kathy and Dwayne were blessed with two children: Skyler and Mashell, who were the most important part of her life.

Kathy worked as a cashier at Fareway grocery for 24 years retiring in 2015. Working at Fareway, she loved socializing with the customers, creating many meaningful relationships along the way. She loved cruising the town, camping with family at Scharnberg Park, playing board games and doing puzzle books. Kathy loved staying in touch with people. She was one of the few who would write personal cards to friends and family for every occasion. She was a very sentimental person.

Kathy passed away unexpectedly at the Spencer Hospital surrounded by her family on July 25, 2024 at the age of 64, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Dwayne Sebby of Spencer; two children: Skyler Sebby of Spencer and Mashell Sebby of Des Moines; two sisters: Judy Spencer of Spirit Lake and Susan Chapman of Milford; other family and a host of friends.

In remembrance of Kathy’s life and love, the family asks that any contributions be made to help repair their home after the recent flooding
