Kathy Larue

Kathy Ann La Rue, the daughter of Clifford and Theresa (Wood) Woodbeck, was born June 19, 1962, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Emmetsburg where she received her education. Kathy moved to Spencer at an early age and began taking classes at the Spencer Business School. It was there that she finished her high school requirements. Kathy went to work for the Spencer Senior Center where she worked for almost 20 years. Shortly thereafter, she became employed at the Spencer Family Care/Avera Health, where she was presently working. On March 25, 2009, Kathy was united in marriage to Kevin LaRue at Lost Island Chapel in Ruthven, Iowa. Kathy enjoyed singing, spending time at her summer home at Lost Island Lake, reading, and working at the clinic, but most of all, she loved being around her family and friends. On Monday, August 10, 2009, Kathy passed away at her home at the age of 47. She was preceded in death by her parents; Clifford and Theresa Wood; and one infant brother, Tommy Woodbeck. Left to cherish her memory are husband, Kevin LaRue of Spencer, Iowa; three children: Keri (Jarod) Gross of Spencer, Iowa, Danica Thome of Spencer, Iowa, and Devin LaRue of Spencer, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 13, 2009, at Hope Reformed Church in Spencer.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday night at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
