Keith Mccarl Mortenson

Keith McCarl Mortenson, the son of Engold and Sigrid (Simonsen) Mortenson, was born on February 1, 1938, in Webb, Iowa. He was raised and attended school in Webb. The family moved to Terril when Keith was in his late teens. After his schooling, Keith worked at the Spencer Hospital as an ambulance driver and maintenance worker. He then worked for Spencer Brokerage as a truck driver and then was the first company truck driver for Morton Buildings, a position he held for 35 years until he retired December 31, 2004.

     Keith married Frances Flack on October 26, 1969, in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home in Spencer, where they raised their family. Keith liked to work in his garden and around his farm in his younger years. He was an avid bird watcher and liked to fish when he had time.

     Keith passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at his home at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Harris, Lawrence, James and Robert and his sisters: Ellen, Shirley, and Joanne.

     Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Frances of Dickens; his daughter, Kris Van Kleek (Steve) of Milford; his sons: Robert, Richard and Russ of Spencer, Kenneth of Dickens, Kevin (Damarys) of Bruceton Mills, WV and Les (Cathy) of Raeford, NC; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.            

SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held on the family farm at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 27, 2020.
The address is 3535 280th Ave., Dickens.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family and will be donated to various organizations including the Dickens Fire Department and Hospice of Spencer Hospital.
