Keith George Mugge, the son of Arthur and Grace (Hessenius) Mugge, was born March 26, 1927, in O'Brien County, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Spencer, Iowa, where he received his education, graduating from Spencer High School. During his younger years, he farmed with his father on the family farm. He later worked as a salesman with his brother-in-law, Doug Mays at M & M Products. Later, he worked in Iowa City as a feed salesman.
Keith married Sue Tyson on May 17, 1950, in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they lived on a farm near Spencer, before moving to town, where he owned and operated Mugge Feed Company for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church in Spencer. For many years, Keith has spent his winters in Ixtapa, Mexico, where they had built a home overlooking the Pacific Ocean, which they enjoyed with their family and many friends.
Keith passed away at Northshire Residence in Spencer, Iowa, on Friday, April 9, 2010, at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue on June 13, 2001, and two brothers: Robert and Morgan Mugge.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Mary Ann Landers, and her husband, Jim, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Michael Mugge, and his wife, Terry, of Spencer, Iowa, Jill Steelhammer, and her husband, Dan of Bend, Oregon and Christopher Mugge and his wife, Jean of Spencer, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; one brother, Bennett Mugge of Spencer, IA; two sisters: Beverly Kimball of Spencer, IA, and Sandi Wilmot of Okoboji, IA; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
