Kendall W. Keir, the son of Robert and Lana Peeso Keir, was born March 25, 1942 in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Spencer. He received his education at the Missouri Military Academy in Mexico, Missouri from 1954-1958. He later continued his education at Oakdale Christian High School in Jackson, Kentucky from 1959 until his graduation in 1962.
Following high school, Kendall entered the military and served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict from March 15, 1966, until his honorable discharge in February 20, 1972. He attended Iowa Lakes Community College from 1975 to 1976, where he received a degree in small engine repair and later N.W. Iowa Technical College from 1977-1978, receiving a degree in carpentry. He worked at Superior Manufacturing for a few years. From 1986 until 2002, Kendall worked several different positions at Pixler Electric, until his health forced him to retire. He will always be remembered as helping other people. He helped put up and take down flags for flag festivals and national holidays for 30 years. He also donated blood for over 20 years. For the past 2 � years, he had been a resident of Riverview Terrace Assisted Living in Spencer.
Kendall passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa on Sunday, October 22, 2006 at the age of 64. His mother, Lana in 1960 and his stepmother, Eileen in 1995 preceded him in death.
He is survived by his father, Robert Keir of Spencer; two brothers: his twin, Wendell and his wife, Sherran Keir of Des Moines, IA and Richard E. and his wife, Grace Keir of Mankato, MN; one sister, Heidi and her husband, Ernie Galer of Iowa City, IA; five nieces and nephews: Jason Keir, Natasha Houselog, Kate Hawkins, Kara Kimm and Nathan Galer; other relatives and friends.
