Kenneth 'Kenny' Kummerfeld

October 28, 1942 — January 20, 2014

Kenneth 'Kenny' Michael Kummerfeld, the son of LeRoy and Alice (Novenski) Kummerfeld, was born October 28, 1942 in Cherokee, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Sutherland, where he received his education, graduating from Sutherland High School in 1961. Following his schooling, he lived on the family farm for many years. After the death of his father, he moved into the town of Sutherland. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sutherland. Throughout his life, Kenny enjoyed spending time with his family and listening to Verla Hibbing's organ music. Kenny passed away at the Sutherland Care Center in Sutherland, Iowa on Monday, January 20, 2014 at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, LeRoy who died in infancy and a nephew, Christopher. Left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Karolyn and her husband, Larry Freking of LeMars, IA, Richard 'Dick' and his wife, Gail Kummerfeld of Rockwell City, IA, Charles 'Chuck' and his wife, Lila Kummerfeld of Sutherland, IA and Kathleen and her husband, Ronald Uhrich of Sheldon, IA; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sutherland.
