Kenneth Wayne Syndergaard

Kenneth Wayne Syndergaard, the son of Pete and Beatrice (Brees) Syndergaard, was born December 15, 1928 in Peterson, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the Peterson area, where he received his education, graduating from Peterson High School. Ken married Evelyn Lavonne Triplett on December 28, 1949 in Sutherland, Iowa. Throughout their marriage, he farmed in the rural Sutherland and Peterson area, and in April of 1991, they moved into Peterson. He retired from farming in 1996. Ken had a love for the outdoors enjoying camping, hunting and fishing with his family. A water fight at the campground was always the highlight of the weekend. Ken passed away at his home in Peterson on Monday, December 12, 2011 at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Evelyn in 1999 and two grandsons. Left to cherish his memory are one son, Brad and his wife, Heidi Syndergaard of Mansfield, TX; two daughters: Carol and her husband, Keith Thiesse of Welcome, MN and Debra and her husband, Scott Brown of Peterson, IA; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother, Bob Syndergaard and his wife, Bernie of Sutherland; three sisters: Kathleen Whittenburg of Peterson, Rose Mary Hansen and her husband, Ken of Lakeside, IA and Sarah Herwynen of Sioux City; two sister-in-laws: Donna Triplett of Sutherland and Irene Triplett of Spencer; a special friend, Delores Raveling; other relatives and many friends.
