Kim Christensen

     Kim Christensen, AKA – “Kim The Great”, the son of Phillip Lee and Joyce (Dennett) Christensen, was born March 17, 1956 in Cedar City, Utah where he spent his childhood years. Growing up, he lived in several small towns, including Kanab, Utah, Mesquite, Nevada and his family finally settled in Las Vegas, Nevada. Here he attended Rancho High School and worked construction. This is where he met his wife, Licia K. Ross of 43 years. Together they had five daughters and built a successful excavating business, “KC Backhoe”, which allowed them to promote and volunteer for many charity events including the Tenth Amendment Committee, the Backhoe Tournament and several political events. Kim was also very involved in stock car racing at Craig Road Speedway in Las Vegas. However, his life-long passion involved his artistic abilities was shared with his family and friends, as he loved to give his artwork as gifts. Kim Loved being with family and friends camping in the mountains, preferably near a lake.

     Kim and Licia were married June 27, 1975. Kim was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Spencer, Iowa. Here he enjoyed missionary work with the members in the latter years of his life. After his declining health, due to multiple sclerosis, Kim passed away on October 10, 2018 at his home in Spencer. He was preceded in death by parents; his three-year-old brother, Chris; his nephew, Cody and his niece, Amber.

     Left to carry on his legacy are his wife, Licia of Spencer, IA; his children: Mindy and Eugene Catrambone of Chicago, IL, Aerin and Gary Andersen of Wright, Wyoming, Jamie and Jon Goff of Battle Creek, Michigan, Cathleen and Robbie Whitney of Washington, Utah, Carlee and Jason Spencer of Spencer, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; one brother, Chad and two sisters: Kathryn and Karen; other relatives and many friends.
