Knox Leslie Campbell passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa on February 14, 2025.
He was born April 12, 1923, to Lee Hulse Campbell and Wilhelmine Nissen Campbell in Waterloo, Iowa. Knox was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Louise, Joanne, and Don, his first wife, Lois Gran Campbell, his second wife, June Wilson Thiesen Campbell, and his son, Casey Miller Campbell.
Knox graduated from Spencer High School in 1941, and graduated from Iowa State University in 1949. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1943 and flew 33 missions in a B25 until his discharge in 1945.
Knox was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal, Iowa, and enjoyed golfing, hiking, woodworking, fishing, reading books on his tablet, and writing his memoirs on his computer.
He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Campbell, four stepchildren, Kent (Sandy) Thiesen, Barbara (John) Dalhoff, Doug (Dawn) Thiesen, and Richard Thiesen, 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Knox will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
