January 3, 1915 — January 17, 2011

Lambert Mastbergen, the son of Arie and Carrie (Buysman) Mastbergen, was born January 3, 1915 in Archer, IA. His childhood years were spent in Archer where he received his education in Archer schools. Following his schooling, his family moved to a farm near Sheldon where he farmed. While in the military, he was trained as a mechanic and his specialty was waterproofing tanks and fixing Army trucks until his honorable discharge. Lambert married Marianne Ducommun on March 20, 1953 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They farmed near the Sheldon community until they purchased their farm in Hartley, IA in 1954. They continued to farm on the family farm until their retirement and later sold the farm in 2002. During their retirement years, they enjoyed wintering in Texas and Florida for a few years and then many years in Apache Junction, near Mesa, AZ, where they met many friends and enjoyed time with his family. He was an active member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley where he was a member of the Brotherhood. Lambert will be remembered as a dedicated family man who enjoyed spending time with his many brothers and sisters as well as his children, grandchildren and great -grandchildren.
