Lana Joyce Richards

December 2, 1933 — June 19, 2007

Lana Joyce Richards, the daughter of Jess and Ruby (Orvis) Lockey was born December 2, 1933, in Spencer, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Spencer where she attended school and graduated from Spencer High School. Following graduation, Lana moved to California and did secretarial work. On February 15, 1953, Lana was united in marriage to William Richards in Reno, Nevada. Following their marriage, they moved back to Spencer where Lana was a devoted homemaker. Lana liked to go fishing, work on crafts, decorating, collecting antiques, and gardening, but most of all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt who enjoyed spending time with her family. On June 19, 2007, Lana passed away at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 73. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; one grandson, Bradley W. Graham; and two brothers: Gordon and Billie Lockey. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Francel (Brad) Graham of Lake Park, Iowa; two granddaughters: Charlana (Dan) Gubbins of Polk City, Iowa, Beth Graham of Iowa City, Iowa; one great-granddaughter, Anna Gubbins of Polk City, Iowa; one sister, Bonnie (John) Ingvall of Spencer, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

SERVICES

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.
