Lanny Dean Woolery, the son of Omer and Mildred (Wilkie) Woolery, was born on October 9, 1957, in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Everly where he attended school. Following school, he entered into the military on March 10, 1976, serving in the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged on January 7, 1982. After his time in the military, Lanny traveled around the United States, living and working in many communities. He was a true "Travelin Man.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, drinking beer and talking on the telephone. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his two daughters.
Lanny married Rosa Mendez on July 21, 2014 in Stratford, TX.
Lanny passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 26, 2015 at the age of 57. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ernie and one sister, Sandy.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rosa of Stratford, TX; two daughters: Sara Woolery of Manson, IA and Shyla Woolery of Guymon, OK; four sisters: Alice Gaumer (Larry) of Indianola, IA, Jean Bidstrip of Meridan, MS, Barb Krumm of Spencer, IA and Beth Woolery (Kathy) of Fairport Harbor, OH; four brothers: Howard Woolery of Jackson, MN, Dennis Woolery (Sharon) of Ft. Mills, NC, Don Woolery of Adkins, AR, Terry Woolery (Kim) of St. Cloud, MN and Dale Woolery (Becky) of Spencer, IA; his two stepdaughters: Maira Argomaniz and Rachael Martinez both of Amarillo, TX; his stepson, Alex Martinez of Amarillo, TX; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 2, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
