Larry Wayne Lange, the son of Duane Lange and Jackie (Fogleman) Kimmel, was born on July 2, 1958, in Cherokee, Iowa. In his childhood years he was raised in Sutherland and then moved to Greenville, Iowa where he finished school graduating from Clay Central Everly. Following high school, he started working at Group 21 in Royal, Iowa. After a short time, he left there and learned to drive truck from the best “Big John” Casteel and made it a lifelong career.
On August 20, 1983, he married the love of his life Julie Lewis in Greenville. Following their marriage, they made their home in Greenville, they had two children Justin and Jennifer. He continued to drive truck, spent many years driving for Jeffclo Trans. Inc. until he bought his own truck which he operated until his retirement due to health issues in 2016.
Larry enjoyed many things in life, especially activities that took him outside. He took great pride in his property, his horse Soni, and muscle cars. He enjoyed polishing his truck working to have the shiniest truck. Most of all he loved spending time with family, especially his kids and grandkids.
Larry passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his father Duane, brother Grant Lange, mother in-law Judy Lewis, Auntie Phil and Uncle Charlie Anderson, Aunt Jan Thomas, and Uncles Glen Hinz and Bob Draper.
Left to cherish his memory are this wife, Julie of Greenville, his two children: Justin (Nicki) Lange of Greenville and Jennifer Lange of Spencer; his grandchildren: Paxton, Haleigh, Nora, and Emma; father in-law, Bob Lewis of Mesa, AZ; 2 brothers-in law: Dan (Nikki) Lewis of Iowa Falls, IA and Brad (Patti) Lewis of Norfolk, NE; sisters-in-law, Monica (Al) Albano of Gilbert, AZ; Colleen Lewis of Spencer; mother, Jackie (Wally) Kimmel of Spencer; brother, Garry Lange of Sutherland, IA; sister, Linda Lange of Council Bluffs, IA; Uncle Gerald (Phyllis) Lange; Aunt Mary Draper; Uncle Ralph Thomas; Aunt Joann Hinz, Uncle Jerry and Aunt Shirley Fogelman; nieces and nephews: Christina (Mike), Nick (Bri), Aubree (Morgan), Zach, Ashley, Brandon, Brittany (Jason), Brooke (Cody), Tyler, Josie (Jacob), Randy (Jen), Rhonda (Kenny), and Courteney; “Other daughter” Kayla (James) and their children: Brayden, Aryanna, and Alexander; along with great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
