LeAnn Carol Arthur, the daughter of William Henry and JoAnn (Schaper) Arthur, was born April 30, 1956 in Estherville, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Greenville, where she received her early education in Spencer schools, graduating from Spencer High School in 1975.
Following her graduation, she worked at Sunshine Center for 30 years and lived in Sunshine Group Home for 27 years. For the past 15 months, she had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in George, Iowa. Throughout the years, LeAnn loved competing in Special Olympics and received several gold medals and blue ribbons, which she was very proud of. She enjoyed country music, making Afghans, shopping and visiting with her many friends.
LeAnn passed away at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the age of 57. She was preceded in death by her father, William Arthur; her maternal grandparents: Mr. & Mrs. Otto Schaper of Estherville and her paternal grandparents: Mr. & Mrs. Homer Arthur of Terril, IA.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, JoAnn Arthur of Greenville, IA; one brother, Bob Arthur and his wife, Deb of Mason City, IA; three sisters: Linda Carroll and her husband, George of St. Paul, MN, Lori Bonine and her boyfriend, Bill Raska of Victor, IA and Lisa Knutson and her husband Danny of Greenville, IA; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
