Leona Amanda Plautz

March 22, 1917 — April 16, 2010

Leona Plautz, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Jebsen) Litka, was born March 22, 1917, in Grant Township, IA. She was raised and attended country schools in the Sutherland area. After graduating high school, Leona became a dental assistant. Leona married Arnold Plautz on December 6, 1964 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland. Leona was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, and enjoyed bowling, watching sports, playing cards, especially 500, gardening, crocheting, spending winters in Arizona, and was a member of the Bethel Helping Hand. Leona passed away on Friday April 16, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA, at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Clara Martin and Rosella Litka; and a brother, Arnold Litka. Left to cherish her memory are her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

SERVICES

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday April 22, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland Following the service lunch will take place at the church with burial afterwards

Visitation will take place Wednesday April 21, at the Warner Funeral Home in Sutherland starting at 4:00 P.M. with the family present from 6-8:00 P.M.

INTERMENT

Northlawn Memorial Park at 2:00 P.M. in Spencer, IA Following the interment a fellowship gathering will be held at 1st English Lutheran Church in Spencer, IA
