Leona Carr, 84, of Sister Lakes, Michigan passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Lakeland Medical Center.
Leona was born on July 9, 1928 in Barnesboro, PA to Francis and Anna (Palidrab) Szeredy. She married her husband Stanley in New York City, New York on January 25, 1953. Together, they raised their children, David, Edward, Alice, Timothy, and Steven.
Leona enjoyed reading the Bible, spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren, and being involved with her church family. She also spent time cooking, baking, and helping others. Leona will be remembered and missed dearly by her family, and friends.
Leona is survived by her children, Edward (Connie) Carr of Evans, GA, Alice (David) Schlichtemeier of Spencer, IA, Timothy (Barbara) Carr of Port Byron, IL, Steven (Rebecca) Carr of Plainwell, MI; a daughter-in-law, Lenka Carr of The Czech Republic; 17 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Emily Schmiedel; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley D Carr; her son, David A Carr; her brother, Stanley Szeredy; and sisters, Mary Szeredy, Helen Regley, Madeline Neuner, Margaret Mazurkevich, Catherine MacKenzie, Josephine Zemrose, and Virginia Szeredy.
SERVICES
Graveside Services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.
