Lera Jean Johnson

Lera Jean (Spletter) Johnson, the daughter of Max and Leatha Spletter was born Dec. 1, 1921. She spent her grade school and high school years at Spencer Schools and had perfect attendance the entire time with the exception of one day her senior year when she "Skipped" school and went to a neighboring town to attend school there. On Sept. 18, 1940 she married Orville Johnson of Milford, IA. They farmed for many years in the Milford and Spencer area. Lera was a loving mother to her three children Roger Johnson of Overland Park, Kansas; Barbara (Ron) Grossman of Tallahassee,Florida and Susanne (Bob) Morisch of Spencer. She cherished her four Grandchildren and spoiled them by cooking their favorite foods at anytime of the day when they came to visit. Grandchildren Jeff (Sherri) Johnson of Kansas City; Clancy Johnson of Kansas City; Mindy (Jeff) Heiter of Spencer and Bradley (Laura) Morisch of Lindstrom, Minnesota. Great Grandchildren Noah; Ethan and Carter. Lera was proceeded in death by her husband of 61 years on Feb.13, 2001. The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
