Lillian Marie Porter, the daughter of Peter and Edna (Woltz) Godfredsen, was born April 1, 1914, in Bancroft, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Bancroft where she received her education, graduating from Bancroft High School. She continued her education at Iowa Teacher's College in Cedar Falls and returned home to teach for one year in Bancroft.
Lillian married Clifford Ringsdorf in March of 1933. Following their marriage, they moved to a farm near Titonka where they raised their family. Clifford passed away in 1958. After Clifford's death, she worked as a clerk in Algona for 10 years.
She married Jack Harrison Porter on June 6, 1968, in Algona, IA. Following their marriage, they moved to Spencer. Lillian was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. She greatly enjoyed her family, playing cards, crocheting and handiwork. Lillian enjoyed her bowling league for many years as well as all sports.
Lillian passed away suddenly at her home in Spencer on Thursday, February 9, 2012, at the age of 97. She was preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband, Clifford; three daughters: Jane Blanchard, Beverly Zittritsch and Janice Struthers; one son-in-law, Kirk Struthers; one sister, Geraldine; four brothers: Lloyd, Donald, Vern and Walter and many more relatives and dear friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jack Porter of Spencer; her children: Richard Ringsdorf and wife, Shirley of Algona, IA, Sharon Elbert and husband, Charles of Mason City, IA, Bonnie Zittritsch and husband, Ron of Morton, IL, Terry Ringsdorf of Omaha, NE, and Shirley Smith and husband, Peter of Houston, TX; 2 sons-in-law: Tom Zittritsch and Gene Blanchard, both of Spencer, IA; 70 grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
