Lillian Wilma Gibbs, the daughter of John and Emma Guse Neitzke, was born February 18, 1912 in Sanborn, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Sanborn, where she received her early education in country schools and later graduated from Sanborn High School.
Lillian married William Gibbs on March 25, 1934 at her parent's home in Sanborn, Iowa. Following their marriage, they moved to Everly, Iowa, where they built their own home and owned and operated the Everly News until their retirement in 1966. She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Everly, where she was past President of the Hope Lutheran Church Ladies, was a circle leader and was a Sunday school teacher for 22 years. She was also a past member and past President of the Federated Women's Club. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening and entertaining her many friends in Everly during her leisure time.
Lillian passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa on Sunday, June 25, 2006 at the age of 94. Her parents preceded her in death; her husband, William on February 5, 1994; two brothers: Carl and Raymond and her sister, Doris Hardin.
She is survived by three nephews: Nick Neitzke of Guthrie, OK, Steve Neitzke of Tulsa, OK and Jack Neitzke of Lehigh Acres, FL; three nieces: Kathy and her husband, James Helten of Garwin, IA, Barbara Robertson of Fullerton, CA and Janice Halsne of Decorah, IA; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, June 29, 2006 at the Hope Lutheran Church in Everly.
