Lincoln Lee Brooks

Lincoln Lee Brooks, the son of William and Clara LaFlame Brooks was born June 1, 1921, in North Troy, VT. His childhood years were spent in the North Troy area where he attended school. He married Katherine Vincent on June 19, 1940, in North Troy. Lincoln enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1941 during WWII. He served until his honorable discharge in 1945, achieving the rank of Corporal. He moved to Spencer, IA, where he worked as a self-employed contractor and carpenter until his retirement in 1994. Lincoln enjoyed working and playing golf. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a 4th degree knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was a past member of the American Legion and an Eagle's member. Lincoln passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Joyce Morse; one son-in-law, Clovis Morse; one granddaughter, Teresa Brooks. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Katherine of Spencer, IA; 5 children: Lincoln (JoAnn) Brooks of New Port, VT, Roger (Glenda) Brooks of Royal, IA, Marie (Dave) Thomas of Hyde Park, VT, Gary Brooks of Yankton, SD, and Susan Groth of Spencer, IA; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; 2 brothers, Bill Brooks of FL and Hilton Brooks of Essex Junction, VT; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Memorial services will take place 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 8 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.
