Linda P. Menting

Linda Pearl Menting 1949~2011 Linda passed away on May 31, 2011, in Zion, Illinois, with her husband and children by her side, after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. Born March 20, 1949, to Esley (Earl) and Charlotte Woolery in Spencer, Iowa. Linda was the second of four children. Linda spent most of her life in the Spencer, Iowa region. On April 19, 1969, Linda was married to Marvin Menting in Spencer, Iowa. Linda spent most of her working years in customer service. She worked for Walmart in Spencer for over 10 years. She loved working with the people of the community. In 2008, after a car accident, Linda was unable to continue working and soon found herself at home with many things to do with her grandchildren. Throughout her life, Linda enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, and music. Linda was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had a deep love for the Lord and relied on Him many times during her battle with the disease the eventually took her home to a loving Heavenly Father. Linda is survived by her loving spouse Marvin of Spencer, children Charlotte Maassen (Keith) of Orem, Utah; Greta Coleman (Matthew) of Boone, Iowa; and Jeremy Menting (Naoko) of Everly, Iowa. Grandchildren, Kayla, Alyssa, Abigale, Collin, Elizabeth, John, Brendan, Seth, Kanta, Dante, and Kosha. Siblings, Randy Woolery (Cheri) of Spencer, Iowa; Lori Henderson of Salt Lake City, Utah. Nieces, Charity and Emma; nephews, Nathan, Samuel, and Alexander, and many other cherished family and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother Larry, infant daughter Cindy, and infant granddaughter Adelaide. The family would like to thank all of those who helped Linda in the last few months of her life. Our G-ma will be greatly missed by all of us who loved her dearly.
