Lloyd Carl Kingery, the son of Vivian and Ila Stirm Kingery, was born May 10, 1927 in Charles City, Iowa. Lloyd received his early education and graduated from the Greene High School in 1945. He then attended Upper Iowa College. In 1945, Lloyd served in the United States Navy until his honorable discharge in 1946.
Lloyd married Georgieann O'Brien on July 12, 1947 in Greene, Iowa. Following their marriage, Lloyd began farming in Greene, Iowa. They then moved to Tripoli, Iowa where he continued farming and also worked at John Deere. In 1965, they moved to Royal, Iowa where Lloyd worked as Territory Manager for Cargill. Lloyd was an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal where he served as Church President. He was also a member of the V.F.W. and Men's Breakfast Club. In his spare time, Lloyd enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Lloyd passed away on April 27, 2013 at Spencer Hospital at the age of 85. He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Anthony Kingery.
He is survived by his wife, Georgieann of Royal; his children: Cynthia Schroeder (Larry) of Tripoli, IA, Constance Bishop of Phoenix, AZ, Paul Kingery of Royal, IA, Cecilia Pedersen (Larry) of Royal, IA, Brian Kingery (Kathy) of Cambridge, MN, Bradley Kingery (Linda) of Cavalier, ND, Cathy Jensen of Jesup, IA, Brent Kingery (Jean) of Spencer, IA and Greg Kingery (Debbie) of Spencer, IA; 25 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; one brother, Roland Kingery (Carol) of Houston, TX; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal, Iowa.
