Lois A. Seversen

Lois Arlene Seversen, the daughter of John and Esther Larsen Andersen, was born April 26, 1922 in Spencer, Iowa. Lois was baptized on May 28, 1922 and confirmed on April 5, 1936 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. She received her early education and graduated from the Lake Center High School in 1939. Lois married Axel Seversen on March 18, 1941, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. Following their marriage they farmed in the Everly area for a number of years before moving to Spencer. Lois helped Axel on the farm and also enjoyed gardening and canning. She also worked many years at the Curtis Caf� during the Clay County Fair, she also worked at Town & Country Drive Inn and Coast to Coast. Lois was a life long active member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. She also was a long time member of the Meadow Township Progressive Club. Lois loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed visiting with her friends. Lois passed away on March 15, 2012 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 89. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Axel; son-in-law, Roger Miller; 2 sisters: Shirley and Joyce. She is survived by two daughters: Linda (the late Roger) Miller of Ruthven and Sharon (Roger) Clarke of Spencer; one son, Dennis Seversen of Sioux City; grandchildren and great grandchildren: Karla (Todd) Blum and family, Amanda, Emily, Rachel and Nicholas, Kerri Pierce and family Jacob, Clay and Olivia, Kevin Clarke and Kayla Carrillo and family Kennedy, Brooke and Adrian, Shawn (Angie) Miller and family Hope, Haley, Hunter and Hayden, Shane (Julie) Miller and family Michael and Evan, Shannon (Andrea) Miller and family Brayden and Abigail, Shad (Mistie) Miller, Christopher (Mara) Seversen and family Aiden, Braden and Macie and Ryan Seversen; brother, Merle (Carol) Seversen of Worthington, MN; brother-in-law, Robert Seversen of Everly; other relatives and friends.
