Lois Ann Beck, the daughter of Irving Andrew and Ida Ruth (Garver) Reese was born April 10, 1923, on a farm near Linn Grove, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in the Rossie area and attended Rossie School.
On February 28, 1945, Lois was united in marriage to Rudolph Beck at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal, Iowa. Following their marriage, they farmed in the Royal area. She worked at St. Luke Lutheran Home as Kitchen Manager for 17 years. She also worked for the Telephone Company in Spencer for three years. In 1968, they moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa. Following retirement, they moved to Arkansas for 14 years where she enjoyed doing ceramics. In 2000, they returned to Spencer. Lois was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal where she tied blankets for the church. She also enjoyed traveling, fishing and working at the Clay County Fair at Dish Plaza.
Lois passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015, at the Ruthven Community Care Center at the age of 92. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rudolph in 2006; one son, Randy in 1973; and one sister, Elaine Bernice Seibels.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cheryl Hurst and husband, Phil of Spencer, IA; two grandchildren: John (Regina) Hurst of San Antonio, TX and Sara (Dave) Schmidt of Spencer, IA; 3 great-grandchildren, Sam, Kael and Hazel; other friends and relatives
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal.
In lieu of flowers memorials to Clay County Fair for improvements to Dish Plaza.
