Lois Edna Klimke, the daughter of Herman G. and Mary Runge Ewoldt, was born October 15, 1925 in Cherokee County, IA. Her childhood years were spent on a farm near Hartley where she attended grade school and later she and her family moved to Calumet where she graduated from high school.
Lois married Peter J. Klimke on September 10, 1950, at the Church of Christ in Calumet. Following their marriage, they moved to Richton Park, IL, where she worked for 20 years as a bookkeeper for the Village of Richton Park and was the first employee to retire from there. Following her retirement, she moved back to Sutherland where she was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church, serving as treasurer and on the church council. She was the current president of the Helping Hand Ladies Aid and belonged to the Cheerful Workers. In her spare time she enjoyed watching game shows, cooking, reading, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles.
Lois passed away at the Orange City Hospital in Orange City, IA, on Thursday, January 1, 2009, at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Iona Ewoldt and Lavina Richter and two brothers: Alvin Ewoldt and Delmer Ewoldt.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons: Kerry Klimke of Sutherland, IA and Bradley Klimke of Lakeland, FL; one sister, Rosali Amendt of Sutherland, IA; one brother, Leonard Ewoldt of Primghar, IA; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland
