Lois Johnson

Lois Arlene Johnson, the daughter of Forrest and Opal (White) Forsyth was born May 16, 1933 in rural Fonda, IA. Her childhood years were spent in the Newell, IA area where she attended school at Newell Providence High School. Lois married Rolland Johnson and to this union they had 4 children; Lorna, Paul, Teresa, and Deanna. She started work in the medical records at the Buena Vista Hospital in Storm Lake, IA. She moved to Fort Dodge, IA to work at the hospital there, in the radiologist department. In 1966 Lois moved to Spencer, IA where she worked as a supervisor at the Hospital in the medical records department until her retirement in 1995. Lois enjoyed traveling, bowling, dancing, singing, and listening to music. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Lois passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, IA at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father Paul Fitchett; brother, Bob Bartels; granddaughter, Sheena Skyles; and grandson, Paul Johnson. Left to cherish her memory are her 4 children, Lorna (Roger) Sebring of Spencer, IA, Paul (Nancy O'Hern) Johnson of Sioux City, IA, Deanna (Chuck) Sharkey of Arcadia, IA, and Teresa Tharp of Biloxi, MS; 6 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna (Gaylen) Wilbur of Bolivar, MO; other relatives; and many friends.
SERVICES
Memorial services will take place 10:30 A.M., Thursday, August 18, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
