Lois Lucille Samuelson

September 17, 1925 — May 24, 2006

Lois Lucille Samuelson, the daughter of James and Lottie Belle Stetson Johnson, was born September 17, 1925 in Hazen, North Dakota. Her childhood years were spent in Peterson, Iowa, where she received her education, graduating from Peterson High School in 1943. Lois married Robert Samuelson on November 19, 1944 in Rembrandt, Iowa. Following their marriage, they made their home in Sutherland, Iowa. She worked at Millie's Nursing home from 1966 until 1975. Lois was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sutherland, where she was active in the ladies circle and the UMW Women's Auxiliary. She also enjoyed ceramics, sewing, crosswords, playing the piano and spending time with her family. Mrs. Samuelson passed away at the Carage Hills Care Center in Cherokee, Iowa on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters: Jennie Brunnimier, Vera Wittmayer, Helen Skager and Carmen Selk; two infant twin sisters: Loretta and Lorraine and four brothers: Everett, Harold, Alvin and Duane Johnson. Lois is survived by her husband, Robert of Sutherland; three daughters: Rennae and her husband, Roger Smith of Meriden, IA, Kay Lynn and her husband, Michael Westvold of Seattle, WA and Lezlie Jo Samuelson of Cherokee, IA; one son and his wife, Steven and Shelley Samuelson of Spirit Lake, IA; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the United Methodist Church in Sutherland.
OFFICIATING
Rev. Dennis Hopes will officiate.
CASKET BEARERS
VISITATION
One hour prior to service.
INTERMENT
Lone Tree Cemetery Sioux Rapids, Iowa
