Lois Marion Eilers, the daughter of Floyd and Wava (Jenison) Thayer, was born June 24, 1934 in Ft. Dodge, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, where she received her education, graduating from Ft. Dodge High School.
On November 9, 1957, Lois married Harry Eilers in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they made their home in Spencer. Lois worked at Spencer High School as a bus driver for 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. Lois enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lois passed away at Spencer Hospital on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry on August 28, 2014; an infant grandson, Daniel and three sisters: Ruth Thayer, June Hoover and Kathleen Bailey.
Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters and their husbands: Laurie (Mark) Pearson, Debbie (Dale) Glackin all of Spencer and Jodi (Todd) Harrell of Spring Hills, KS; 7 grandchildren: Joe Gardner, Jeff Gardner, Krista Fuller, Gabbie Pearson, Sara Elizabeth Pearson, Jesse Glackin and Cathrine Glackin; 4 great grandchildren: Gracie, Bryson, Everett, and Felicity Gardner; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, March 7, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.
