Lois Nadiene Arndt

Lela Dorothy Gustad, the daughter of Peter H. and Etta Moeller Thiessen, was born December 8, 1916 in Lake View, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in the Everly area, where she received her education, graduating from Everly High School. Lela married Harold Clarence Gustad on February 23, 1942 in Spencer, Iowa. Throughout their marriage they made their home in the Everly area, where they farmed until retiring in 1970. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Everly. Lela enjoyed several hobbies including keeping a diary, collecting items of her favorite color red, watching birds, traveling and collecting patches from different countries. Mrs. Gustad passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harold on September 7, 1999. She is survived by one brother and his wife, Elmer and Mary Thiessen of India Atlantic, Florida; a niece, Sharon Sbordone and her husband, Jim and their 2 sons: Patrick and Michael all of Chicago, IL; other relatives and friends.
