Lola 'Peggy' Cockburn

August 29, 1921 — January 15, 2013

Peggy, the daughter of Ernest and Mary Manning, was born in Spencer. She graduated from Spencer High School. She lived in multiple locations but spent most of her life living in and near Spencer. Peggy was married to Clarence Cockburn, the long time FBO of the Spencer Airport. She was a member of the following: Spencer Hospital Auxiliary, Riverton Township Daughters of Ceres, Royal Methodist Church, and Desert Skies Methodist Church (Tucson, AZ). She worked multiple jobs but mostly the following: cook at Stub's House of Plenty (6 years), secretary for Spencer Flying Service (11 years), and Clay County Fair (22 years). Peggy passed away at her home in Tucson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, and two nieces. Peggy is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Albert and Bette Keul of Carlisle, IA, Ronald and Janet Peterson of Omaha, NE; two sons and their wives, Allen and Diane Girard of Tucson, AZ, James and Paula Girard of Lake Stevens, WA; one sister and her husband, Vince and Judy Kueny of Alta, IA, eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Riverside Cemetery.
