Lonnie Ray Bauerly, the son of Floyd and LaVonne (McDonald) Bauerly, was born on August 1, 1945, in Sibley, IA. He was raised and received his early education in Ocheydan, IA. Following high school, for the next 10-15 years, he worked with road construction companies. He then attended Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City in where he studied electrical engineering. He started working as a robotic technician at IBP in Kansas then moved to Sioux City in 1986, when he was promoted to Electrical Engineer. Lonnie retired in 1990, due to a disability.
Lonnie married Marvena Stofferan on June 28, 1968, in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple has lived in several communities before settling in Spencer 1n 1995. Lonnie enjoyed helping people with their computers along with repairing them. He was a loyal Tea Party Patriot. Lonnie enjoyed spending time with his family, they were very important to him.
Lonnie passed away at his home with his family by his side on May 26, 2014 at the age of 68. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marvena in 2010; infant son, Curtis and an infant sister, Sharon.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kendra Paige and her husband, Tom of Waterloo, IA; two sons: Kenneth and his wife, Laurie and Todd both of Spencer; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Scott and his wife, Rita of Montrose, CO; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial services will be held 1:30 P.M., Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
