Loren Dale Halquist

August 21, 1921 — April 21, 2006

Loren Dale Halquist, the son of William and Matie Stahl, was born August 21, 1921, in Lake Park, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Lake Park where he received his education, graduating from Lake Park High School. Following his schooling, he entered the military and served with the U.S. Marine Corps during WW II from 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1945. Dale married Jeanette "Tootie" Lund on June 27, 1948. Following their marriage, they lived in the communities of Spirit Lake, Mason City and Ft. Dodge before moving to Spencer, Iowa, where he worked for N.W. Bell Telephone for 36 � years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Dale enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. Dale passed away unexpectedly at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, Iowa, on Friday, April 21, 2006, at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clayton and Harold; two sisters, Marjorie Halquist and Darleen Tollakson; and one nephew, Dwaine Halquist. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette "Tootie" of Spencer, IA; one daughter and her husband, Connie and William Brown of Emmetsburg, IA; one son and his wife, Kent and Mary Beth Halquist of League City, TX; 6 grandchildren; 7 great- grandchildren; two nieces: Mary Krieger of Terril, IA and Linda Drucker of Spirit Lake, IA; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 25, at the Grace United Methodist Church, Spencer, Iowa.

VISITATION
Visitation begins 12:00 noon, Monday, April 24, with the family present 6:30-8:00 Monday evening at the Warner Funeral Home, Spencer, Iowa.
INTERMENT
Riverside Cemetery Spencer, Iowa
