Lori Ann Hatten-Buckley, the daughter of John and JoAnn Hatten, was born on April 10, 1963, in Algona, IA. Most of her childhood years were spent in Spencer, IA, where she received her education, graduating from Spencer High School in 1981.
Lori was united in marriage to Brad Buckley on July 3, 2014. With this union, Lori became the mother to Logun, Cheyenne and Sabastian, and a mother of the heart to Alex Jensen.
Lori was employed with Shoppers Supply/Bomgaars as an Assistant Manager from 1995-2015. It was here that Lori made many life-long friends. She is most remembered for her contagious laugh, and bright eyes and smile. When Lori wasn't working, she most enjoyed bowling, gardening and spending time with family and friends. She was also an avid animal rights advocate, adopting a total of five rescue dogs: GQ, Coke, Q-Tip, Dusty, and her baby, Belle.
Lori passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at the age of 52, following a courageous battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and JoAnn Hatten; grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Brad Buckley of Spencer, IA; her children: Logun, Cheyenne, Sabastian and Alex of Spencer, IA; sisters: Lisa Bradley (Kevin Krukow) of Iowa Falls, IA; Julie Clark (Ed) of Marshall, MN; Angie Loberg (Merlin) of Omaha, NE; and Mari Beth Ahart (Jon) of Stewartville, MN; 10 nieces and nephews; her chosen sister, Shelly Johnson and family; her brother from another mother, John Moore; and numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or People for Pets.
SERVICES
Funeral services will take place 10:30 A.M., Thursday, May 21, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
