Lori Lee Cam, the daughter of Larry and Ardis (Volkert) Buck, was born July 3, 1960 in Storm Lake, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Storm Lake, where she received her education. Her family later moved to Spencer, where she continued her education, graduating from Spencer High School. Lori continued her education at ILCC in Emmetsburg, where she received her nursing degree.
Lori married Rick Cam in 1981 at the First English Lutheran Church in Spencer. After their marriage, they moved to Houston, Texas, where she worked as a Pediatric Nurse. They divorced in 1996 and she moved back to Spencer. In Spencer, she worked as a Medical Surgical Nurse and Quality Control Nurse at Spencer Hospital until her retirement in 2017 due to her failing health. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Spencer. People knew Lori for her wonderful sense of humor, positive attitude and loyalty to friendship. Lori loved spending time with her family, traveling and taking drives. She had a great love for animals and loved her family of cats.
Lori passed away at her home in Spencer on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at the age of 58. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 half-brothers: Donald Buck & Randy Buck and many aunts and uncles.
Lori had no biological children, but raised two very special sister-in-laws: Winnie Mittelberger and Ouane Cam and a very special brother-in-law, Lee Cam from when they were children after their parents had passed away. Lori considered these very special people as her own children. Lori also considered their children, Ferrance, Josephine, and Ivan Mittelberger and Katie, Brandon & Madison Cam all as her grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory include her sister, Linda Kladstrup (Steve) of Spencer, IA; her half-brother, Steve Buck of Rolfe, IA; her nieces and nephews: Katie Kladstrup (fiancé Daniel Scott), Machalah Phelps (Sean), Tony Kladstrup (Sarah), Bryan Kladstrup, Christian Kladstrup (Kasey), Eran Buck (Sachio), and many other relatives and friends.
Lori wanted her death to be a celebration. She wanted her friends & family to be happy and to remember and cherish all of the wonderful, fun times they all had together.
