Lori P. Eriksen passed away on Tuesday, November 3rd at 10:30 am. She lived with Multiple Sclerosis for 19 years before her passing at the Northshire Care Center in Spencer. Lori was preceded in death by her parents, Agdrup and Frances Eriksen of Peterson, IA. Her older brother Stephen Eriksen of Peterson and her older sister Carol Saltz of Des Moines, IA. Her grandparents Sam and Anna Eriksen of Spencer and William and Margaret Steiner of Spencer. Other extended family members who lived in or near Spencer.
Lori was born in Geneso Illinois on November 20th 1961, attended school in Royal, Iowa and graduated from High School there in 1980. She attended college and lived in Denver, CO until her diagnosis of MS at the age of 35. She returned to Iowa to be close to family and met Roman Heinrichs of Spencer who loved and cared for her for a number of years. She spent her final days at Northshire Care Center in the company of so many warm and giving caretakers that we will be forever grateful for.
Lori donated her body to science and would like any donations to go to MS Primary Progressive research in hopes of finding a cure. Donations can be sent to the family and will be passed on or send your donation to the University of Wisconsin - Madison, Department of Medical Sciences Research, Dr. Ian Duncan, 2015 Linden Dr., Madison, WI 53706. Mention the donation is being made in Lori's name and that it is for Primary Progress MS research.
All family and friends are invited for an informal, supportive gathering to share pictures and memories of Lori.
Left to prize her memory are her brothers Mike (& Linda) Eriksen of Paulina, IA, Joseph William (& Lin) Eriksen of Des Moines, IA, sisters Sally Broessel of Whitney, TX, Mary (& Richard) Talbott of Wapello, IA, and Susan (& Fred) Knorre of Austin, TX and many other extended family.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be 1:30 P.M., Saturday, November 7, at the First Congregational Church in the Fireside Room.
