Lorn Martin Cook, the son of Lawrence and Berniece Wieneke Cook, was born October 16, 1933 in Adrian, MN. His childhood years were spent in Adrian, where he received his education. Lorn enlisted with the United States Army in June of 1954 and served until his Honorable Discharge in June of 1956.
Lorn married Darlene Wilma Roemeling on July 12, 1955 in Adrian, MN. Following their marriage, they lived in the communities of Ft. Benning, GA, Worthington, MN and later Adrian, MN until moving to Spencer, Iowa in 1961, where they made their home. While living in Spencer, Lorn worked at Omar Bread and then Spencer Dairy for 8 years and then Wells Blue Bunny where he drove a milk truck for 21 years, until his retirement. He then worked at Southpark Mall. Lorn enjoyed working over 40 years at the Clay County Fair. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Lorn and Darlene enjoyed their winters in Weslaco, TX. He also enjoyed making things out of wood and mowing lawns.
He passed away at the Community Memorial Health Center on May 6, 2015 in Hartley, IA at the age of 81. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Darlene.
Left to cherish his memory are his 4 sons: Kevin Cook and his wife, Denise of Everly, IA, Ken Cook, Keith Cook and his wife Tammy all of Spencer, IA and Kelly Cook of Algona, IA; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; his siblings: Lorraine (Dallas) Poss of Sibley, IA, Betty Herman of Elsworth, MN, Donna Jonas Langel of Le Mars, IA, Virginia Deutsch of George, IA, Jim (Mary) Cook of Worthington, MN, Orville (Gini) Cook of Windom, MN, Virgil (Alice) Cook of Adrian, MN, Mary (Lyle) Wolf of Spirit Lake, IA, Margrette (Willie) Nath of Adrian, MN; Darlene's siblings: Bill (Sadie) Roemeling of Ohatchee, AL, Charlene Feekes of Adrian, MN, Curt (Diane) Roemeling of Colorado Springs, CO, Sandra Buss of Adrian, MN, Rhonda Archer of Kelso, WA, Rebecca (Bruce) Nuwesh of Hemphill, TX, Dawn (Rich) Chance of Rochester, MN, Kris Curtis of Rochester, MN; step brother-in-law, Robert (Marlene) Greve of Adrian, MN; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.

VISITATION
Will begin at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, with a Catholic Vigil service at 5:00, and the family will be present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
