Lorraine Anna Blair, the daughter of Emil and Rose (Sievers) Boettcher, was born September 29, 1930, in Dickinson County, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Spirit Lake where she received her education, graduating from high school in 1948. After her schooling, she continued to live in Spirit Lake.
Lorraine married Gary Dean Blair on July 20, 1956, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer where she worked as an operator, and later an administrative clerk for AT&T, US West and Qwest. In her later years, she worked for Super Valu, Sears, ASGS and National Cash on Iowa until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the Eagle's Club for several years, and former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer.
She passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa, on Monday, December 21, 2015, at the age of 85. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary in 2014; and three brothers: William, Raymond and Walter Boettcher.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Michael Blair and significant other, Kathy Wipperling, and Bradley (Beth) Blair, all of Spencer, IA; two grandchildren: Brianna Blair (Jason Shideler) of Spencer, IA, and Justin (Jessica) Blair of Sioux Falls, SD; one step-grandchild, Brooke Pierson of Spencer, IA; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Eileen) Boettcher of Spirit Lake, IA; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will take place 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, December 23, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
