Lorraine Elda Adams

Elda Lorraine Adams, the daughter of Robert and Leona May (Willard) Fuller, was born on December 17, 1931, in Sloan, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Sloan and then the family moved to the Gillett Grove area where she finished her schooling. Lorraine married Merle Adams on June 10, 1951, in Gillett Grove. Lorraine enjoyed being a homemaker and also working at the school as a cook. In 1963 the couple moved to Colorado, but returned home back to Gillett Grove in 1980. Lorraine liked gardening and embroidery. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, reading books and e-mails from her family and spending her winters in Texas visiting family. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Gillett Grove. Lorraine passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 78. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Terry; her grandson; her sister, Darlene Smith and her brother, Donald. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Merle of Spencer; three sons and their wives: Zane and Brenda of San Antonio, TX, Donald and Sandra of De Bary, FL and Gerald and Cherie of Broomfield, CO; Two daughters and their husbands: Debra and Pat Brogan of Arlington, TX and Karen and Terry Simpson of Marathon, IA; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; three sisters: Ardith Robinson and her husband, Arnold of Ponca, NE, Ila Raynor of Jackson, NE and Velma Vanderpool and her husband, Phillip of Wilder, ID; other relatives and friends.
