Lorraine Margaret Sarvold

Lorraine Sarvold, the daughter of William and Sena Jepson Busse, was born December 17, 1918, in Bigelow, Minnesota. When she was still a child they moved to Rock Rapids, Iowa. Lorraine graduated there and 4 years later they moved to Spencer, Iowa. On August 17, 1940 Lorraine married Frank Haydter. Frank passed away on February 8, 1946. She married Lloyd Sarvold and moved to Webb, Iowa, where she worked in a restaurant and for the Webb Telephone Company. They then moved to Sioux Rapids, Iowa, where she worked in a restaurant, at the Sioux Rapids Hospital and later at a nursing home. Lloyd passed away on February 28, 1976. Following Lloyd's passing she met and was the companion of Paul Waters for many years. They traveled between Sioux Rapids, Iowa and Sun City, Arizona. Lorraine passed away peacefully on June 14, 2017, at the age of 98. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Sena; two brothers, Lloyd of Marcus, Iowa, and William of Milford, Iowa; sister, Maxine of Spencer, Iowa; sister, Virgean, her husband, Harris McFarlane and their son, Doug from Miller, South Dakota; son, Larry Haydter of Jacksonville, Florida; step-son, Lloyd Sarvold of Spencer, Iowa; husband, Frank Haydter; husband, Lloyd Sarvold and companion, Paul Waters. Lorraine is survived by her step-daughter, Janice Sarvold of St. Paul, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Lucille Busse of Marcus, Iowa; brother, Robert and his wife, Annah Belle of Laurens, Iowa; granddaughter, Karen McCrea of Charlotte, North Carolina; and step-grandchildren Gary Sarvold of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, and Mark Sarvold of Foley, Alabama. Lorraine enjoyed reading, baking and traveling. She would like to thank Julie Waters and Mike Hagen for taking her to the lakes for many summers and for the groceries they brought, and especially her son Larry, before he passed, for his daily telephone calls that meant so much to her. She will be greatly missed.
