Louis Harold Chapman

July 12, 1918 — September 9, 2011

Louis Harold Chapman, the son of George and Barbara (Krall) Chapman, was born July 12, 1918, in Terril, Iowa. He was raised in the Terril and Lake Center area, where he attended Lake Center School and later Spencer schools. Louis married Dorothy Ida Middagh on August 4, 1941 in Millard, NE. Following their marriage, they lived in Minnesota for one year and then moved to the Spencer, Iowa area, where he began farming for many years. Throughout their retirement years, they spent their winters in Texas. Louis enjoyed doing many things in his younger years like working, traveling and camping. He also liked watching baseball and building things. Louis made friends wherever he went, but most important to him was being a great father and grandfather and spending time with his family. Louis passed away at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, Iowa on Friday, September 9, 2011 at the age of 93. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; four brothers: Raymond, Arnold, Earl and Art Chapman. Left to cherish his memory are her his children: Larry Chapman and his wife, Ina of Greenville, IA, Gene Chapman and Sharon Arms of Greenville, IA and Steven Chapman and his wife, Cathy of Des Moines, IA; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Eischeid of Spencer, IA; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at the Warner Chapel inSpencer.
