Lucille Marjorie Curry

Lucille Marjorie Curry, the daughter of Emil and Ethel (Lawrence) Skartwed, was born on January 16, 1934 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She was raised and attended school in Emmetsburg and graduated from high school in 1952. She then went on and attended Buena Vista University for two years. She married Buzz Curry on June 30, 1956. During her lifetime Lucille enjoyed many activities including: attending auctions, shopping with her sisters, collecting antiques, gardening, cooking, challenging the one-arm bandit, and cherishing her grandkids and their endeavors. Lucille also looked forward to her weekly volunteer time at the local Casa organization. She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church. Lucille passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Darrell "Buzz" of Spencer, IA; her 4 sons: Stephen of Goodyear, AZ, Todd (Sandy) of Spencer, IA, Chris of Manteca, CA, and Brett of Spencer, IA; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Delores Coughenour (Edwin) of Kingsley, IA, Donna Johnson (Wayne) of Ruthven, IA; one brother, Wayne Skartwed of OK; many nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
