Luella Margaret Rickers

Luella Margaret Rickers, the daughter of Henry and Tina (Urban) Meyer, was born March 25, 1918, in Calumet, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent around Calumet where she received her education attending country schools. On December 18, 1940, Luella was united in marriage to Ernest A. Rickers in Calumet, Iowa. Following their marriage they remained in Calumet where she stayed at home to raise their family. In her free time Luella enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing, but most of all she loved being around her family and friends. On December 12, 2007, Luella passed away at the Sutherland Care Center in Sutherland, Iowa, at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest Rickers; two brothers: Lawrence and Burnell Meyer; one sister, Lucille Holtz; one infant grandson; and one great-granddaughter. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Kenneth Rickers of Cherokee, IA, Don (Meri) Rickers of Sutherland, IA, Carolyn (Richard) Sheriff of Des Moines, IA, Donna Roeder of Phoenix, AZ; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
