M. Dale Jones

Morris Dale Jones, the son of Leslie and Sadie Waters Jones, was born May 7, 1917 near Everly, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the Everly and Spencer area where he received his education, graduating from Spencer High School. Dale married Katherine Thomas on March 5, 1940 in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they farmed near Dickens for many years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Spencer. He was active with the Golden Kiwanis and loved to camp and fish. Dale served for many years on the Dickens Elevator Board and the Clay County Fair Board. He also served on the Dickens School Board. Dale was very proud of his herd of angus cattle. Dale also took care of thousands of feeder lambs. Dale passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home on Monday, March 3, 2008 at the age of 90. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Katherine of 60 years and two sisters: Cleone Fischer and Carol Lake. Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters: Martha Behrens of Ames, IA and Susan Brumbaugh of Spencer, IA; two grandchildren: Kurt Behrens and Tara Hagen and her husband, Dan; three great-granddaughters; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 7, 2008 at the First Christian Church in Spencer.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin after 2:00 p.m., Thursday, with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.
