Mabel Maxine Rutledge

August 25, 1922 — July 29, 2007

Mabel Maxine Rutledge, the daughter of Ray and Mae (Clark) Koppelman, was born August 25, 1922 in Marshall, Minnesota. Mabel was raised and graduated from high school in Lake City, Iowa. She married Leo Rutledge on September 21, 1941 and to this union, 3 children were born. They moved to Spencer, Iowa in March of 1957. Leo and Mabel were livestock and grain farmers until Leo's retirement in 1985. Mabel loved working at the Senior Center as a cook for 20 years, retiring in 2002. She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and belonged to the Women's Guild. She was also a member of the Progressive Neighborhood Club. Mabel enjoyed sewing holiday things for her family and friends. Mabel passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo on August 1, 1992 and a brother, Delbert. She is survived by one son, Dennis and his wife, Karen Rutledge of Spencer; two daughters: Sheryl and her husband, Lonn Engler of Hackensack, MN and Marilyn and her husband, Keith Wilson of Milford, IA; six grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Vera Moore of Thousand Oaks, CA; other relatives and many, many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the First English Lutheran Church in Spencer.

Visitation will begin 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 1, 2007 with the family present from 6 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday Evening at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
