Mace Allen Hershberger, the son of James Monroe and Floy Evelyn (Baumgartner) Hershberger, was born March 24, 1962 in Ft. Wachuka, AZ. His childhood years were spent in Normal, Illinois, where he received his early education. Mace moved with his family to Storm Lake, Iowa in 1970, when his father became head coach of Buena Vista College. Mace continued his education graduating from Storm Lake High School in 1981. He later attended graduated from Buena Vista College in 1985. Mace enjoyed his college life, playing football, wrestling and spending time with many of his lifelong friends.
Following his graduation from college, he moved to Dallas, Texas, where he worked in Real Estate with college friends. He later received his brokerage license and worked for a time at a brokerage firm in Dallas. He returned to Iowa, where he worked for R.J. Reynolds in Waterloo and later Woodbury, MN. Later, he later moved back to Northwest Iowa, where he worked construction around Okoboji and the lakes region for several years. He enjoyed his time, boating, sharing stories with friends and spending time with his family, especially his two nephews.
Mace passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the age of 48. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jim and Floy Hershberger.
Left to cherish his memory are his two brothers: Steven Hershberger and his wife, Stacia of Round Rock, TX and Michael Hershberger and his girlfriend, Jenny Hughes of Coralville, IA; his two nephews: Alec Monroe Hershberger and Ethan Michael Hershberger both of Round Rock, TX; as well as many extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
