Madora Arlene (Jeppson) Peterson, the daughter of Joseph and Gertrude (Jorgenson) Johnson, was born January 15, 1920 in Eagle Grove, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Eagle Grove, Iowa, where she received her education, graduating from Eagle Grove High School.
Madora married Roy Jeppson on June 22, 1941 in Eagle Grove, IA. Following their marriage they lived in San Diego, California for four years until moving to Spencer, Iowa in 1945. Throughout the years, Madora worked at Ellerbroek's, Nieman's Sewing Center and People's Natural Gas. She worked as a bookkeeper at Spencer Veteranarian Supply for 9 years, before her retirement in 1985. She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. Madora was also a member of the Moose Lodge, Spencer Hospital Auxiliary and RSVP in Spencer. In her spare time, she loved to do handiwork, cook, bake and visit with friends and family. Roy passed away January 20, 1983.
Madora married Ray Peterson on February 10, 1994 in Spencer, IA. They continued to make their home in Spencer.
She passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer on Monday, October 14, 2013 at the age of 93. Madora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy; her 2nd husband, Ray Peterson on June 3, 1997 and a sister, Clarise Mahany.
Left to cherish her memory are two nieces: Diane Tucker of Birmingham, AL and Debbie 'Debra' Tucker of Minneapolis, MN; special friends: Gordon and Alta Bruns of Spencer and Brenda Pomeroy of Ruthven, IA; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
